So I have been in Manchester for a month now. Granted, I STILL don’t have a job, but I have had a lot of time to explore. So, in case you’re thinking of paying the gem of the North a lil vist, and need some recommendations for artsy cocktails, and feeling totally hipster…here are my top 5 favourite places that I have discovered so far (and hopefully, much more to come!)

P.S. Apologies for the lack of posts recently. As soon as my life is up and running as normal, so will my blog!;)

Jacket – HM. Boots – Zara. Top – Thrift Shop (see below). Lipstick – MAC. Socks – Primark. Culottes – Primark.

1 – ARTISAN KITCHEN & BAR (Spinningfields) – I only went here yesterday (note: the pictures), but fell in love with the area! Artisan kitchen is a rustic restaurant by day and bar by night. They also do a fantastic lunch deal (2 amazzzzing courses and a glass of wine for a tenner, hello!) and it is set in a great area. I will definitely be going back to Spinningfields to explore some of the super cool looking bars and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit.

2 – MAGMA (The Northern Quarter) – So, this place does not provide food or drink – but it does provide an often much-needed burst of creativity. Based in the Northern Quarter, this shop has every independent magazine and zine you could ever need. And it is also right around the corner from a huge 2-floor art store. Just what you need for a rainy day! (Which I might add, is every other day in Manchester – definitely don’t forget your brolly).

3 – V-REV (The Northern Quarter) – So, I am a huge fan of vegan food. I myself am not a vegan, I’m a veggie, but that’s not to say that I can’t appreciate good vegan food when I see it. Also based in the ever so trendy Northern Quarter, this diner-style restaurant offers vegan alternatives to every meat dish you could ever want. Vegan ribs, anyone?

4 – FLOK (The Northern Quarter) – Surprise, surprise; also based in TNQ. The Northern Quarter really is an absolute gem for all things cool, rustic and delicious. Flok is no exception. I have only had drinks in here, but the atmosphere is beyond great. Think super cosy wooden everything.

5 – THRIFT SHOP (Piccadilly Gardens) – Hands down THE best thrift shop I have ever been in. Honestly, if you are a shopaholic (or even if you’re not) definitely go to ‘Thrift Shop’ based right in the centre. It is cash only, so make sure to visit the bank beforehand! It stocks everything from vintage Ralph Lauren coats to real suede bomber jackets, and Levi mom jeans. And the amazing thing is, nothing is above £15.

Looking peachy and happy after a few glasses in Artisan!

Let me know in the comments if you have visited Manchester, and what you think of it!
