HEALTH GOALS FOR 2018 & ENERGY BALL RECIPE

2018 is nearly here! I must admit, this year has been a tough one for me…and I am also feeling the most uncomfortable in my body than I have felt in years. Although I exercise on the regular and try and eat as healthy as I can, I also LOVE sweets and chocolate, and I’m not currently feeling too comfortable in the skin i’m in.

SO, here are my health and fitness goals for 2018 (and a lil recipe for protein coconut balls!):

1 – Be able to do 10 proper press-ups: My upper body strength is just not there and never has been! This time last year I couldn’t even do one press-up without having to go to my knees, so I am pretty proud of myself that I can now do one. BUT I want to be able to do at least 10 in a row. I want my goals to be about more than just losing weight…so i’ll let you know next year how I get on with this 😉

2 – Lose a lil weight: I must admit, I am not feeling too good about myself at the minute. My weight can fluctuate a lot, and I know that weight isn’t everything and that I need to consider how much muscle weighs, however, I would like to lose a few pounds.

3 – Let my abs show: I DO have abs! And I have worked so hard for them! But saying that, abs are made in the workouts and shown in the kitchen, so I want to clean up my diet a bit so that my tiny abs can start to show.

4 – Become a better cook: I do love cooking, but I just can be a little lazy at times when it comes to cooking. I’m very impatient when it comes to hunger, so I will want my food there and then and often go for the quickest option. This year I want to up my cooking skills and really spend time learning and practicing healthy recipes.

5 – Love my body no matter what: I can be very self-critical, which in the past has lead to extremely obsessive and unhealthy habits. I want to build up the confidence to love my body no matter what.

Coconut peanut butter energy balls (perfect for snacking, or post/pre-workout!)

You will need:

– 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
– 6 tbsp Peanut Butter (or any other nut butter)
– Half cup shredded coconut
– 2 tbsp protein powder
– 1 tbsp Date syrup
– 2-3 tbsp coconut flour

Simply combine all in a bowl until you get a dough consistency. I just eyeball the ingredients until I have the right dough. Roll into balls, roll in shredded coconut and keep in the fridge!

Please let me know your new years health resolutions and if you make this recipe!
